What's improved since launch

MID Pixelmap picked up a full Preproduction Mode — production-ready technical drawings, real panel and rigging libraries, automatic weight and power breakdowns, and undo/redo across the whole workflow — plus merge support for walls built from more than one panel size. Its projector lens calculator grew into a standalone tool of its own, with multi-projector array support and PDF export.

MID Generator's test patterns and timecode tools got a full reorganisation into clearer, collapsible sections, and the countdown timer that started there grew into its own tool — with OSC control, a built-in HTML remote, and NDI® output straight over the network.

MID Sync gained a Version Backup mode for keeping a rolling history of an active show file, live progress with an ETA on large copies, and better handling of empty folders and scheduled runs.

Along the way, the whole suite became one app with a system-tray launcher and global keyboard shortcuts to jump between tools, and its open-source component (FFmpeg) moved to an LGPL-licensed build, with source code available on request.

NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB. ndi.video · NDI® output needs the free NDI® Runtime, a separate download from NDI: Download the free NDI® Runtime

Previous versions

Highlights from earlier updates, gathered in one place rather than version by version.

  • Preproduction Mode: Port List grid with one-click backup processor wiring
  • Preproduction Mode: rigging beam planning — hooks, mixed tile sizes, counterweights
  • Preproduction Mode: automatic weight/power breakdown and Excel bill-of-materials export
  • Merge walls built from more than one panel size
  • Undo/redo across most editing actions
  • Cable labels: line avoidance, numbered badges, colour-coded data/power/backup routes

MID Lens Calculator

  • Real projector and lens libraries (Barco, Panasonic)
  • Multi-projector array mode with equalised brightness across the array
  • Front, Side and Top technical views, plus PDF export

MID Countdown

  • Started life inside MID Generator, then grew into its own tool
  • OSC control and a built-in HTML remote
  • NDI® network output

MID Generator

  • Render queue: reorder, pause, resume or cancel any job individually

The whole suite

  • Became one app with a system-tray launcher and global keyboard shortcuts
  • Closing a tool's window no longer quits the app; it keeps running quietly in the tray
  • Optional "Start with Windows"
